This cinnamon apple crisp dessert goes great with any dinner. It comes together in 10 minutes and is perfect to just throw into the oven while you’re working on dinner.

Ingredients

(For the filling)

5 granny smith apples (peeled & diced)

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp of fresh lemon juice

1 tbsp all purpose flour

½ tsp nutmeg

(For the oat crisp topping)

4 Tbsp of cold butter (cubed)

½ cup of old fashioned oats

1/3 cup brown sugar

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp salt

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Start by cutting your apples and adding them to a large mixing bowl, add in lemon juice, cinnamon, flour, and nutmeg. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.

  2. Pour mixture into a 9 inch round pie dish and spread it into an even layer.

  3. In another mixing bowl add in oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cold butter. Use a fork or your hands to mix until the topping is crumbly.

  4. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples, bake at 375°F for 35-45 min. If the topping browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil and continue baking until apples are soft.

  5. Let the crisp cool slightly before serving. Serve it in a bowl with a nice scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
