This dessert is perfect for date night, or when you're hosting a special dinner. Don't be intimidated by lighting it on fire, it looks impressive, but it's actually much easier than you'd think. With just a little prep, most of it can even be done the day before.

Ingredients

1 pound of fresh or frozen cherries

2 Tbsp salted butter

1/4 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1/4 cup of Brandy liquor

Directions

  1. Add 2 Tbsp of butter to large saucepan melt down, add in all other ingredients besides the vanilla extract and Brandy.

  2. Cook down cherries gently pressing them down with a wooden spoon, cook them for about 7 minutes until tender.

  3. Once everything is cooked down stir in vanilla extract and take off of heat.

  4. Carefully add in 1/4 of Brandy and quickly light dish on fire with a long-stem lighter, make sure you keep your distance when lighting as it's going to flame up. After a few seconds the flame will go out, so make sure everyone's watching when you light it.

  5. You can eat this on its own but its best served over vanilla ice cream.
